API Chemist Technical Support (Manager)

My clients are an American Global Pharmaceutical Company. They're looking for an API Chemist Technical Support (Manager) to join their team in Singapore. The incumbent will be responsible for detailing and selling of pharmaceutical products to healthcare professionals within his/her designated territory.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform the following activities: review/initiation of API site Track-Wise change control activities, support day-to-day manufacturing at the Tuas site, support External Supply initiatives, lead/review investigations and proposed CAPAs, and support transfers of new APIs into the site.
  • Apply highly specialized chemistry and process development skills to design safe, efficient, and robust processes toward full-scale qualification batches.
  • Contribute a range of highly innovative chemistry and process development ideas to support global API process development and cost improvement projects.
  • Demonstrate problem solving to deliver chemistry and process understanding.
  • Provide chemistry support in technical transfer and troubleshooting of commercial API processes to relevant internal and external API sites, company Research and Development (R&D) and global technical groups.

Key Requirements:

  • PhD. in Organic Chemistry with a minimum of 5 years of experience, Master's Degree in with 5 to 10 years of experience, or bachelor's degree with greater than 15 years or commensurate experience in the pharmaceutical industry within a process development role.
  • Knowledge of modern synthetic chemistry methodology, including aspects of asymmetric synthesis, green chemistry, catalysis, and physical organic chemistry as it relates to reaction mechanism is expected.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of synthetic chemistry, analytical chemistry, reaction engineering, modeling, process development and scale-up principles, process validation and technical transfers.
  • Possess laboratory experience and skills across a broad range of chemistry.
