Associate Procurement Director - Construction and Facilities Management

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Procurement Director to lead our procurement team in Additions and Alterations, maintenance, MRO, and Furniture, fixtures, and equipment sourcing for various business units. This role involves overseeing a team while managing individual projects. The successful candidate will ensure the team meets business users' demands by providing support mainly in strategic sourcing, high-volume purchases, contract drafting/management, and stakeholder and supplier management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive procurement strategy and plans to meet business objectives and deliver savings.
  • Lead the sourcing cycle for purchases, driving negotiation processes and contract management.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure the most competitive pricing and add value beyond pricing.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the department by creating, streamlining, and implementing best practices.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and manage their expectations and requirements.
  • Identify key operational issues for stakeholders and collaborate with them to develop and implement strategic solutions.
  • Provide technical and commercial input to RFP documents, ensuring completeness, compliance with procurement policies, and added value.
  • Execute and deliver on sustainability goals for trade/projects.
  • Stay updated on market trends/conditions and procurement industry trends and best practices.
  • Collaborate with legal and finance teams to draft, finalize, and negotiate contracts from a commercial standpoint.
  • Proactively identify supplier risks and execute mitigation strategies.

Key Requirements

  • Extensive commercial sourcing and procurement experience, ideally within the facilities management or construction industry.
  • Proven capability in effective negotiation to drive procurement strategy.
  • Financially and commercially astute with experience in making tough decisions and excellent stakeholder management.
  • Proven track record in effective leadership.
  • Sound technical knowledge in Additions and Alterations and equipment maintenance is preferred.
  • Minimum Degree holder in Quantity Surveying, Facilities Management, or M&E Engineering with at least 15 years of relevant experience.
  • Resourceful individual, well-organized, results/time-oriented, with strong attention to detail and excellent prioritization skills.
  • Positive work attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with procurement management software as a super user.
  • Ability to work well autonomously or within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
