The incumbent will be responsible to check import, export and guarantees transactions, perform operational technical analysis on transactions and liaise with internal and external clients on operational matters. Further, to look at collateral management, credit and transaction monitoring duties.

To qualify, individuals must possess:

  • Good knowledge of Trade Finance
  • At least 5 years' relevant experience
  • Commercial commodity experience also welcome
  • CDCS qualification would be advantageous
  • Technically sound around Guarantees
  • Excellent communications skills

Position: Analyst
Department: Trade Operations
1Documentation of new Borrowers by preparing a Facility Summary based on the Facility Agreement (FA). Amending and updating Facility Summary as and when new changes to the facility are approved, on a timely manner
2Review drawdown requests and supporting documentation (pre-drawdown).
3Ensure request is within approval conditions of the FA. Check credit insurance limits and calculate relevant pricing (fees and interest).
4Screen via Dow Jones all transaction counterparties and use PurpleTrac for B/L where submitted.
5Prepare and submit drawdown documents to Borrower for sign off and review same upon receipt.
6Prepare disbursement memo and submit for internal approval ensuring accurate information including overdues, coming maturities and overdue Condition Subsequence (CS).
7Upon approval submit to Fund Ops along with uploaded drawdown docs for further processing and payment.
8Recording, monitoring and following up of all post approval CS
9On-going review of all transactions to spot inconsistencies, delays that may impact the risk in our transaction, financing structure or repayment source.
10For inventory finance MTM our collateral and review weekly inventory reports. Where held to our order prepare release instructions, submit internally for signing and then send to Warehouse Keeper or Collateral Manager
11On-going vessel tracking to ascertain whether vessel has loaded and sailed (pre-shipment) or arrived at destination (for repayment tracking) and highlighting delays.
12Twice-monthly basis send SOA to Borrower for review with copy to RMs.
13Weekly and Monthly reporting - overdues, upcoming maturities, outstanding CS items.
14When requested by borrower, submit loan extension requests for approval and calculate additional fees and interest and invoice Borrower.
15Booking of loan repayments and reconciliation of accounts with Fund Ops

19Review of Borrower insurance policies for gaps/inconsistencies and highlight of same.
20Report general market alerts such as sanctions etc for further review of portfolio
