Data Modeler - Managerial Accounting (Japanese Banking)

We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with strong knowledge of Managerial Accounting to support enterprise data initiatives for a leading Japanese bank. The role involves designing scalable data models for financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, and analytics while working closely with business and technology stakeholders.

*Key Responsibilities*

* Design and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models.

* Develop data models supporting Managerial Accounting, FP&A, and financial reporting.

* Collaborate with Finance, Business, and Data Engineering teams to define data requirements.

* Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and metadata standards.

* Support data warehouse, ETL/ELT, and analytics initiatives.

* Optimize data models for reporting and performance.

*Required Skills*

* 5+ years of Data Modeling experience in Banking or Financial Services.

* Strong understanding of Managerial Accounting, including Cost Centers, Profit Centers, Chart of Accounts, Budgeting, Forecasting, P&L, Variance Analysis, and Cost Allocation.

* Hands-on experience with ER Modeling, Dimensional Modeling (Star/Snowflake), and Data Warehouse design.

* Strong SQL skills and experience with ETL/ELT processes.

* Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or similar modern data platforms is preferred.

* Knowledge of Data Governance, Metadata Management, and Data Quality frameworks.

* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

* Experience working with Japanese banks or APAC financial institutions.

* Exposure to Collibra, Microsoft Purview, T24, Oracle / SAP Financials, or similar platforms.

* Familiarity with regulatory reporting and enterprise finance data domains.
