Data Protection Officer

A prestigious fintech firm is hiring a Regional Data Protection Officer to join their team in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design data privacy framework while utilising legal privacy laws for various entities and regions within the Group
• Coordinate with legal compliance, IT security teams to establish enterprise risk, operational risk and data privacy risk management
• Develop risk monitoring metrics and establish risk assessments to identify and mitigate breaches
• Maintain data protection policies and procedures
• Be the point of contact for audits, regulatory inspections and Data Protection authorities
• Lead data breach investigations and advise stakeholders on Data Privacy matters
• Contribute solutions to meet privacy obligations and implement projects on data strategy and data privacy

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor Degree in Law, Science or related field
• At least 7-10 years' relevant experience in managing data privacy frameworks with financial services or technology data background
• In-depth understanding of Singapore data privacy regulations (including GDPR)
• Good communication skills, capable of dealing with wide range of stakeholders across different seniority levels, teams and countries
• Good understanding of technology business and financial products
• Good connections with local regulators
• Proven ability to create and maintain privacy risk program
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin as communication with Chinese counterparts is required
