Direct Procurement Manager

Job description

My client is one of the largest dye manufacturers in the world with operations and offices in several countries globally. They are looking to hire a Direct Procurement Manager to join their growing team in Singapore.

This role would have you be responsible for not only sourcing materials but also be responsible for supplier management and negotiations. Using your knowledge of the chemicals market, you would be involved in developing and implementing purchasing strategies and policies.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure materials/goods sourced are up to the quality standards of the company and are available in a timely manner
  • Conduct supplier evaluation to ensure compliance and negotiate pricing based on cost objectives
  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers and negotiate material price to optimize cost saving and also to ensure the materials are delivered in a timely manner
  • Identify cost saving initiatives on material purchases and periodically provide update to management
  • Liaise with technical and production teams on matters related to raw materials

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management or Chemistry related discipline
  • Ideally from chemicals or related industry
  • Ideally with minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in direct procurement
  • Out-going personality with knowledge about the chemicals market and is skilled in supplier management and negotiations
  • Proficiency in ERP System/SAP and Microsoft Office is highly desirable
