About the company

I am working with an award-winning regional fintech company focused on SME lending. They have a strong presence in both Singapore and Indonesia with a strategic push to replicate this success in other SEA countries, such as Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines.

About the role

I am looking for an experienced credit approver/underwriter in SME/Retail to take on this leadership position. The ideal candidate will have at least 12-15 years of experience from a fintech company or bank.

As the role is based in Bangkok, Thailand, the candidate should be fluent in Thai and English.

Key responsibilities

  • Leadership role to manage an existing team
  • Responsible for SME credit decisions and approvals
  • Ensure Collection & Recoveries are managed in compliance with regulations
  • Develop, implement and oversee a comprehensive risk management framework covering credit risk, collections, operational risk and compliance

Key Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business/Finance/Economics/Engineering/Law or related field
  • At least 12-15 years of experience in SME/retail credit risk management from a fintech, bank or other financial institution - *must have approval authority
  • Proven expertise in credit scorecard development, credit policy formulation and risk governance
  • Experience in collection & recoveries
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Thai and English to liaise with Thai stakeholders
