My client is a dynamic, rapidly growing investment company. They are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Legal Counsel to join the organisation and support their strategic business growth.

This is an exciting opportunity for a legal professional looking to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment where you can make a tangible impact. This is also a great opportunity for M&A/Investment lawyers who are currently in private practice but keen to move in-house.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance and support on corporate governance matters, including drafting and reviewing corporate policies, resolutions, and meeting minutes.
  • Lead and manage the setup of new entities across multiple jurisdictions within the region, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Oversee and advise on investments across the region, handling due diligence, transaction structuring, and related legal documentation.
  • Serve as a corporate secretary, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and managing corporate records.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address legal issues related to commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Assist in negotiating and drafting contracts with a focus on protecting the company's interests.
  • Provide legal advice on corporate structuring, intellectual property, employment law, and other matters as needed.
  • Support the company's startup initiatives, providing legal insights for growth, fundraising, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in law (LLB)
  • At least 6 years of experience as an in-house counsel - handling regional investments, corporate governance/corporate secretarial work and setting up new entities.
  • Candidates with start-up experience will be advantageous
