Logistics/Freight Forwarding Specialist

My clients are looking for a Logistics/Freight Forwarding Specialist who would play a pivotal role in developing and managing their international freight forwarding operations. They are a reputable company committed to high quality global logistics solutions and unparalleled customer service.

To be successful in this role you would bring knowledge and understanding of the global logistics and freight forwarding landscape. Your skills in stakeholder management and P&L management, combined with a customer service attitude and cost-conscious approach would be key as well.

The position will commence as a 9-month project stint to start up their business operations in India.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing effective routings for import and export cargo.
  • Initiate/confirm bookings and tracking document distribution with agent(s).
  • Serve as the central point of contact for external customers on transportation, logistics, and freight forwarding questions.
  • Take responsibility of and manage accounts as assigned by management.
  • Monitor and communicate market and rate changes to customer.
  • Physically visit with customer base regularly.
  • Take ownership of the P&L for accounts.
  • Look for ways to optimize cost efficiency and yield, in turn improving the cost to the business.



Key Requirements

  • At least 3 years of international freight forwarding experience.
  • Educational background in Supply Chain Logistics or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills required for quoting, vendor management, and customer interaction.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external parties.
  • Team player and able to multitask on different projects while managing timelines.
  • Open to working in India for a 9-month project.
