Job description

Application Maintenance & Support Management

  • Identify and implement improvements to minimize data patching.
  • Analyze recurring issues to implement preventive actions with the Service Delivery team.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architects and Technical teams to resolve application issues efficiently.

Business-as-Usual (BAU) Operations

  • Drive cost reduction and efficiency through root cause analysis, knowledge management, and performance tuning.
  • Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises at an organizational level.
  • Lead a team of system analysts providing Level 2 and 3 support for in-house and vendor-developed applications.

Vendor Management

  • Ensure vendors meet KPIs and SLAs, proactively managing vendor relationships.
  • Review vendor deliverables, including incident reports, change requests, and monthly service reports.
  • Establish quality control measures to ensure vendor compliance with company standards.
  • Collaborate with vendors to optimize processes, reduce costs, and improve service efficiency.

Technology & Security Oversight

  • Conduct regular system and application reviews to ensure compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
  • Plan for technology upgrades and refresh cycles in collaboration with vendors.
  • Ensure that all technical implementations meet security and performance standards.

Policy Compliance & Audits

  • Work closely with Cybersecurity and Enterprise Architecture teams to implement security best practices.
  • Conduct application security design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Participate in IT audits and ensure adherence to IT policies, standards, and procedures.

Team Leadership & Management

  • Lead and mentor a team overseeing application support and vendor management.
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and career development opportunities for team members.
  • Establish best practices for vendor and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Set clear KPIs and job expectations for team members while fostering a collaborative team culture.

Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build strong working relationships across all departments and senior management.
  • Maintain active internal and external networks to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

  • The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology, along with a strong understanding of ITIL methodologies, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • While ITIL certification is a plus, extensive hands-on experience in these areas is essential.
  • The candidate should possess at least 10 years of experience in application maintenance, support, and vendor management, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role managing teams.
  • Additionally, at least 5 years of project management experience is required.
  • From a technical standpoint, expertise in Java is a must. The role also demands strong knowledge of Unix and RedHat scripting, as well as experience working with middleware technologies such as WebLogic, Tomcat, and SpringBoot.
  • Proficiency in automation and build tools like Maven and Jenkins is necessary, along with a solid grasp of databases, including Oracle, MSSQL, and SQL.
  • The candidate should also be well-versed in SDLC methodologies, particularly Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
