Manager, Application Support (Trading /Securities)

Our client is seeking an experienced Team Lead/Manager, Application & Development to manage a team of 5-7 application support and development professionals. The ideal candidate has prior experience leading application support teams and overseeing application development projects. This role focuses on ensuring smooth system operations, meeting enterprise standards, and supporting business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of application support and development professionals.
  • Oversee application development, implementation, and maintenance to meet organizational needs.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of application projects, including support, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure systems operate efficiently and meet business and security requirements.
  • Handle incident, problem, and change management while driving automation and system performance improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes and deliverables.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure effective collaboration.
  • Monitor application performance and resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years in application development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing teams of 5+ members in application support or development.
  • Relevant experience in the financial sector (preferably Securities / Brokerage / Asset), with knowledge of MAS regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with application development and support processes, particularly in .NET and SQL environments.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SDLC.
  • ITIL certification and experience in the financial industry (securities or brokering) are a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
