[Medical Device] R&D Test Engineer

Role Overview

This role supports product development by planning, executing, and managing test activities for verification, validation, and benchmarking. It oversees prototype testing labs, ensures compliance with regulatory standards, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to evaluate product performance and readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, protocols, and reports for verification, validation, and process studies.

• Manage prototype and testing lab operations, equipment upkeep, calibration, and budgeting.

• Design automated and manual test procedures and fixtures.

• Conduct feasibility and benchmark testing with development and quality teams.

• Liaise with external labs and equipment vendors to support testing needs.

• Identify, track, and communicate issues and risks throughout development.

• Present test results and insights to project and management teams.

Ideal Requirements

• Degree/Master's in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, Bio Engineering, or related fields.

• 3-5 years relevant experience; exposure to medical device, automotive, or aerospace industries preferred.

• Hands-on experience with design verification/validation in regulated environments.

• Strong understanding of DOE, regulatory standards (IEC, FDA, ISO, GMP), and test methodologies.

• Skilled in Minitab/statistical tools, test automation, and scripting.

• Understanding of cybersecurity requirements for device testing is a plus.
