Job Description

  • Responsible for all purchasing activity from RFP through expediting orders to delivery
  • Responsible to place and authorizes purchase orders, tracks deliveries, payment and maintains accurate records following established guidelines
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and service levels to determine most desirable suppliers
  • Responsible to negotiate materials, equipment, payments and delivery from suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers concerning order status and delivery and communicate delivery information
  • Maintain all accurate purchasing, pricing and cost data
  • Coordinate product replacements and product recalls
  • Assist and work with the Purchasing Manager with all related tasks

 

Required skills and experience

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience at a global company

  • Experience of electrical supply or electronics purchasing experience

  • Knowledge of purchasing and inventory concepts, practices, and procedures in the electrical industry

  • Knowledge of industry including suppliers, customers, and competitors

  • Knowledge of business performance measures

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written including strong negotiation skills
