Overview

We are working with a client who is looking for a Senior Audio Algorithm Expert to design and develop real-time audio algorithms for embedded and edge devices. The role focuses on products such as true wireless earphones (TWS), laptops, and IoT devices, with an emphasis on low power consumption, low latency, and high audio quality.

This position works closely with audio algorithms, embedded systems, and hardware teams to deliver production-ready solutions at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Audio Algorithm Development

  • Design and implement low-power, low-latency audio algorithms for embedded and edge platforms.
  • Take technical ownership in one or more areas:
    • Speech enhancement (noise suppression, echo cancellation, multi-microphone processing)
    • Wearable audio systems (ANC, transparency mode, hearing enhancement)
    • Voice interaction (ASR front-end, voice separation, speaker recognition)
    • Spatial audio (immersive and spatial sound processing)
    • Micro-acoustic modeling (speaker and microphone compensation)

Embedded Optimization & Deployment

  • Optimize and deploy algorithms on DSP, NPU, and ARM-based platforms.
  • Balance power, latency, and memory in resource-constrained environments.
  • Optimize edge AI models using quantization, compression, and pruning.
  • Ensure solutions are stable and production-ready.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with hardware and acoustic teams on system design and tuning.
  • Collaborate with platform teams to improve audio performance over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

Innovation & Roadmap

  • Stay updated on the latest audio research and apply it to real-world products.
  • Contribute to defining the mid- to long-term technical roadmap for edge audio systems.

Requirements

Essential

  • PhD or strong Master's degree in Signal Processing, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience delivering embedded or edge audio algorithms into production.
  • Strong background in audio signal processing and adaptive filtering.
  • Experience with RTOS and/or embedded Linux.
  • Hands-on experience with DSP platforms.
  • Strong coding skills in C/C++, plus Python or MATLAB.
  • Experience deploying AI models on edge devices.
  • Background in consumer audio products (e.g. ANC for TWS).
