Senior Engineer, Implant Equipment

Job description

Role Overview

This role is responsible for managing and optimizing semiconductor implant/diffusion equipment performance to ensure high manufacturing yield, tool reliability, and operational efficiency. The position involves equipment maintenance strategy, process optimization, cross-functional coordination, and continuous improvement to support stable high-volume production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage implant equipment performance to support product yield and process stability.

  • Develop and optimize preventive maintenance (PM) plans for implant tools to improve reliability and reduce cost.

  • Lead troubleshooting activities and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians.

  • Collaborate with process and manufacturing teams to address low yield and wafer quality issues.

  • Work with equipment vendors to resolve tool issues and enhance performance.

  • Establish spare parts management strategy to support production while controlling inventory cost.

  • Oversee new tool installation, startup, qualification, and production handover.

  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment efficiency and reduce cost per wafer.

  • Track equipment-related documentation (MRB, 8D, ECN, etc.) and ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Set team goals, conduct performance reviews, and support talent development.

Ideal Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Microelectronics/Chemical/Material Engineering or related fields.

  • At least 3 years of experience in implant/diffusion equipment in semiconductor manufacturing.

  • Hands-on experience with implant tools and equipment maintenance is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of SPC, DOE, FDC, statistical analysis, and equipment optimization methodologies.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with quality standards and documentation control processes.
