Senior Enterprise System Engineer

Overview

Our client is a leading global financial market infrastructure provider looking for a Senior Enterprise Systems Engineer to join their Singapore team. This role will own complex enterprise infrastructure initiatives across Windows Server, VMware, Azure, and Microsoft 365, acting as a senior technical escalation point with a strong focus on reliability, security, automation, disaster recovery, and compliance in a global environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and deliver enterprise infrastructure solutions across Windows Server, VMware, Azure, and Microsoft 365 platforms.
• Administer and troubleshoot core services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, DFS, File Services, Exchange Server, and SQL Server.
• Manage VMware vSphere, Horizon VDI, Azure Virtual Desktop, and related virtualisation platforms.
• Support Microsoft cloud and security tools including M365, Endpoint Manager, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex infrastructure issues and own P1/P2 incidents, RCA, and long-term remediation.
• Automate operations using PowerShell, Graph API, SCCM, and IaC / DevOps tools such as Terraform and Azure DevOps.
• Lead backup, disaster recovery, observability, documentation, audit readiness, and SOX compliance activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to architecture reviews, roadmap planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with global infrastructure, cybersecurity, application, and business teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and occasional weekend maintenance activities.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, or a similar role, ideally within financial services or a regulated environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, DFS, File Services, Exchange Server, and SQL Server.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Endpoint Manager, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender tools.
• Strong exposure to VMware vSphere, Horizon VDI, Azure Virtual Desktop, and backup solutions such as Rubrik, NetBackup, or Commvault.
• Strong scripting or automation skills using PowerShell; Graph API, Terraform, or Azure DevOps experience is advantageous.
• Good understanding of PKI / certificate management, infrastructure security, backup, and disaster recovery practices.
• Proven experience as a technical escalation point, SME, or project owner for complex infrastructure initiatives.
• Experience in global / follow-the-sun support environments is advantageous.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong English communication skills and willingness to support on-call / maintenance schedules.
