Software Engineering Leader - FX Trading Platforms

Job description

Our client, a leading international financial services firm is looking for a Software Engineering Leader. In this role you will lead a talented team of software engineers, fostering innovation and collaboration to deliver exceptional FX Trading Platform products that exceed customer expectations.

Additionally, you will:
- Oversee and guide all engineering projects within the FX team, driving cross-functional decisions for successful delivery.
- Provide domain expertise and engineering insight to accelerate project decision making and maintain technical execution oversight.
- Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to shape product direction and roadmap.
- Mentor and develop Technical Leads and Software Engineers, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

To be successful in this role you would have the following skills and experience:

  • 12-15 years of experience in software engineering and 5-7 years of team management experience
  • Strong experience building low-latency, algorithmic electronic FX trading systems
  • Proficiency in architectural design of complex systems
  • Expertise in high availability designs, parallel/horizontal scale-out database architectures
  • Strong leadership skills, motivating teams through clear communication and collaborative approaches
  • Background in engineering product management, work stream delivery, and resource planning
  • Background in C++ or Java development
