Trade Finance (Assistant) Manager, Commodity Trading

Our client is a reputable and stable commodity trading business with operation across the globe. To facilitate their company growth across the region, they are looking for a high calibre Trade Finance (Assistant) Manager to join their team looking after the SEA markets.

Reporting directly to the Department Head, your responsibilities will include:

• Daily trade and credit transaction process (letters of credit, confirmations, discounting, guarantee, credit line and exposure)
• Identifying and assessing financing and investment opportunities
• Responsible for reviewing and complying the finance and reporting requirements
• Monitoring and reviewing the cash and bank movement, maintaining bank position report and detailed accounts balances internally
• Liaising, working closely with and maintaining good relationships with banks
• Responsible for the day-to-day physical trading activities and monitoring the inventory movements
• Negotiating with banks, operators, front office, professional parties and the related stakeholders (both Chinese speaking and English speaking stakeholders) on bilateral trading finance documents and activities
• Ensuring the compliance and regulatory requirements are complied with the up-to-date standards
• Supporting any ad hoc projects

To qualify, individuals must possess:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in Commodity Trading/ Banking or related sectors with solid experiences in Trade Finance
• Familiar with data usage and analysis is a plus
• Solid business partnering and stakeholder management skills and understanding of business operations
• Familiar with general commodity trading incoterms are highly preferred
• Smart, energetic person who is ambitious to strive for excellence
• Excellent communication and languages skills (written, spoken and reading Chinese and English) to work efficiently with Chinese speaking and English speaking stakeholders across the globe
• Excellent communication and presentation
• Dynamic personality with an analytical mindset
