Trade finance officer
You will report to their Trade finance head and manage the trade finance activities including monitoring Sale contracts, identify shipments due for loading, forward LC draft in advance to buyer, Follow up with customer for LC establishment, scrutinize the LC on receipt for amendments and thus ensure receipt of clean LC before the loading. You need to preparere Invoice and submission of complete set of documents as required under LC on a timely basis for the buyer to pay on due date. Check receipt of funds on due date and escalate if funds not sighted. You need to be responsible for handling LCs (both establishment and receipt), processing imports / exports documents for negotiation, the person should work closely with trading desks, operators and banks for smooth and timely conduct of business. This role will also involve in cash flow management (Monitor inflow and outflow of funds to ensure funds availability. Propose short term investment in case of surplus funds).
Should possess qualification in Finance and Accounting. Should possess knowledge on Incoterms, banking practice UCP for documentary credits, etc
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- At least 3-4 years in trade finance area at a commodity firm or oil major
- Strong understanding in trade finance activities
- Familiar with UCP 600
- Good communication skills required
