Tropical Oil Trader

About the company

We are working with a leading producer in plant-based oils and fat. They are looking to add a junior to mid-level Tropical Oil Trader to their team in Singapore.

Job Responsibilities

Sourcing & Trading (S&T):

• To coordinate and optimise oil sourcing per site
• To ensure raw material purchases comply with the Company's quality standards & sustainability requirement
• To coordinate commodity risk exposure throughout Global Company sites to make sure oil exposure is hedged out efficiently to mitigate risk. All coordination to be done with senior trader.

Sustainability:

• To drive the sustainable development & progress of raw materials linked to the overarching Company's strategy and ambitions.
• This role requires close collaboration with Global S&T and Sustainability team and aims to connecting the Company's sustainability ambitions, customer sustainability requirements with sourcing & trading possibilities.

Job Requirements

• A recognised university degree in Economics, Finance, International Business Administration or Engineering
• Knowledge in applied statistics and mathematical models, time series technical analysis, fundamental analysis and forecasting methods.
• Excellent understanding of global raw materials supply chains and of futures market volatility and environmental sustainability challenges
• Around 3-5 experience in Sourcing & Trading/Risk Management, preferably in vegetable/soft oils. Operating futures in the commodity market is desirable along with any other experience in derivatives
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, able to execute promptly and adaptable in a fast-moving environment
