VP, IT Infrastructure & Support (Banking)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a hands-on IT professional from the banking or financial services industry who can independently manage and run the IT function.

This is an individual contributor role, ideal for someone who is comfortable "owning the entire IT setup" from daily operations to infrastructure, security, and ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IT operations, including hardware, software, and end-user support
  • Take ownership of the organisation's IT infrastructure (servers, networks, systems, and applications)
  • Ensure system stability, security, and performance across the environment
  • Develop and maintain IT policies, procedures, and security best practices
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand and support IT needs
  • Handle vendor coordination, including solution selection, implementation, and support
  • Support and deliver IT projects, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Monitor IT costs and ensure efficient use of budget and resources
  • Stay updated on new technologies and recommend improvements where relevant

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field
  • At leats 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure / system administration / IT management roles
  • Prior experience in banking or financial services is preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge across:
  • Servers, networks, and end-user computing
  • IT infrastructure and applications support
  • IT security and governance practices
  • Experience working in regulated environments and following security standards
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the IT function
  • Strong problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
