Overview

An established firm in the technology sector is looking to expand its infrastructure team with a skilled Windows Engineer who brings deep experience in Microsoft Azure and a strong focus on automation and system reliability. This role involves advancing the organization's Windows environment by designing and managing cloud-based virtual desktop solutions, optimizing Azure infrastructure, and implementing automation strategies using PowerShell and configuration-as-code practices. The candidate will play a key role in driving operational efficiency and supporting the evolution of a modern, scalable IT platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and maintain a modern hybrid cloud Windows infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain PowerShell-based automation to streamline operational tasks and enhance platform reliability.
  • Implement configuration-as-code methodologies to support scalable and efficient infrastructure management.
  • Utilize automation to identify and remediate inefficiencies across Windows endpoints, infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure environments.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of professional experience in Microsoft-based technology engineering.
  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions using Windows 365, Autopilot, and Intune.
  • Advanced knowledge of core Microsoft technologies, including Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and Active Directory.
  • Hands-on experience with configuration-as-code platforms such as Salt, Ansible, or Microsoft Desired State Configuration (DSC).
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using Jenkins, to support PowerShell automation workflows.
  • Experience in aggregating and analyzing Windows event and flat file logs using platforms such as the ELK stack or Splunk.
  • A strong architectural mindset with a focus on security, business continuity, high availability, and scalability.
