Area Manager (Travel Retail)

Job description

My client is a European manufacturer and distributor of personal care product for leading global brands. They are looking to hire an Area Manager (Travel Retail) to join their team growing in Singapore. This role would have you be responsible for growing their travel retail business in the APAC region by taking care of key brand portfolios and improving their market positioning and sales.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work out and implement business strategy/plan, appropriate sales targets, and incentive programs to ensure profitability
  • Maintain regular communication with internal stakeholders and retailers to provide smooth order/delivery process
  • Review promotional initiatives to make sure they are effective
  • Take part in store visits, trade events and seminars (locally and/or overseas) to identify opportunities/areas of improvement
  • Be responsible for forecasts and handle pricing and operational issues
  • Liaise with training and design teams to ensure training for new products and brand/counter designs are on time
  • Hire retail staff on occasion and motivate them to drive sales

Key Requirements

  • Ideally minimum 3 years of experience in travel retail sales, marketing, retail or buying, but similar experience in other industries is also welcome
  • Comfortable multitasking and working with multiple teams
  • Effective communicator and an eye for detail in the commercial market is a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint
