Global Marketing Director for Travel Retail

One of the largest beverage companies is looking to hire a Global Marketing Director for Travel Retail to join them in their Singapore office.

In this role you would be responsible for leading the travel retail marketing and branding strategies on a global level and positioning they portfolio of brands to drive strategic growth, market capture and revenue generation. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing marketing and branding strategies considering the markets and consumer insights on a global scale, great leadership, communication, stakeholder, and P&L management skills, and a transformation/change management and out-of-the-box thinking mindset.

  • Strategy & Planning:
    • Define long-term strategies for portfolio brands, including allocation, innovation, pricing, and activation.
    • Localize global plans for GTR channel, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive brand positioning.
    • Develop a focused GTR innovation strategy and ensure accountability through KPI tracking.
  • Consumer and Market Insight:
    • Understand customer perceptions and market movements, delve into consumer behaviour, and link brand strategies to financial outcomes. Ensure global relevance across markets.
  • Brand Foundations & Stewardship:
    • Embed the brand's timeless DNA in strategies, nurturing equity consistently.
    • Adapt distinctive brand elements to packaging and marketing to make them fresh and standout.
    • Lead consumer-centric, impactful brand experience initiatives.
    • Develop a global digital strategy, collaborating with Digital Leads and integrating digital into the shopper journey.
  • Leadership & Talent Development:
    • Lead a multicultural, global team to create and execute a global channel strategy, achieving financial and strategic objectives.
    • Actively coach and mentor team members to build their marketing and branding capabilities.

Key Requirements

  • At least 15 years of hands-on consumer marketing experience within the travel retail space is essential.
  • Global Marketing and Branding experience in premium/prestige/luxury travel retail sector would be ideal. Alcohol industry experience would be best fit.
  • Team player and leadership experience with the ability to drive, guide, coach and lead a multi-cultural global team.
  • Capable in building creative strategies to drive market growth globally while also managing P&L.
  • Creative, out-of-the-box thinker with a change management/transformation mindset to adapt strategies to keep inline with market and consumer changes.
  • Great communication skills to be able to drive the growth of product portfolio and work with both internal and external stakeholders.
