Job description

We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our client's Technology Support team. As an Application Support Engineer, the day to day responsibilities will focus heavily on day to day application support functions within the firm including Treasury, Middle Office, Operations, Finance and Compliance.

This Engineer will be responsible for ensuring production stability and providing world class support to the users. In addition, you will have an opportunity to work on various automation projects as well as exposure to our efforts to increase our capabilities in the cloud (primarily AWS).

Detail day to day responsibilities;-

  • To support applications in Middle & Back Office office applications day to day.
  • Assist BAU tasks such as day-to-day support, incident and problem management and deployment of application releases.
  • Develop an appreciation for and participate in process improvement and automation initiatives
  • Collaborate with development teams and support various DevOps tools like TeamCity, Jenkins, GitHub, Octopus and Confluence etc.
  • To be able to communicate to senior management by giving appropriate updates during outages
  • Drive outage calls, engage stakeholders and take ownership in drafting communication around it, including post mortem reports

Skills Required

  • 5-8 years relavant working experience as Banking Application support.
  • Excellent SQL skills and knowledge of various database systems
  • Excellent in Unix / Linux environments alongside Windows environments
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools (i.e.ITRS Geneos, Datadog, etc)
  • Familiarity with AWS, Kafka and Data Warehouse is a big plus
  • Strong in problem solving and analytical ability
  • Quick learner with excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent team player, Self-starter, energetic, independent work ethic
